Move That Bus!

Watching the action
The house across the street...
Checking things out!
Riding the bus!
The house - as we saw it!
We were lucky to visit the Extreme Home Makeover house as it was being built in Beaufort, SC. What an amazing thing! We drove to Beaufort and parked in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. There we handed over some canned goods and hopped on a bus for a short ride. Two minutes later we were in a small neighborhood, with small one story houses. There were fences guiding you to see the house and the action. It was really neat. The kids stood there for close to 45 minutes watching all the excitement....we didn't see any stars and we weren't there to yell "Move that bus!" Although it did pass my mind to go back for the big event?! And we didn't volunteer (next time I definately will!) But we still got to see it close up! What a dream and a blessing for all those families that Extreme Makeover helps!

Crazy Kids!

Two different pj's and a helmet (to ride his motorcycle in the house!) Crazy!

My Little Gymnast is at it again!

Biking to the beach on New Year's Day!

Poor Jack had to "carry" the beach bag!

My whole world is right here! LOVE!

Our New - New Year's Day Tradition...the beach!

Jack LOVES trucks... and the beach!

Maddie was sooooo happy to be at the beach! Just like her Mommy!

My new favorite picture of Jack - this says it all!

The water was freezing...but that didn't stop them!

Looking for hermit crabs!

It was supposed to be 70 and sunny....as we drove over the bridge it got overcast and was pretty foggy at the beach. But that doesn't stop beach lovers! We played, had a picnic, and laughed a lot! We drove to Nannie and Poppop's and then we rode our bikes. It was the first time Maddie rode to the beach without her training wheels! New Year's day on the beach with my two little ones - I couldn't think of a better way to start 2011!

Who Needs Times Square!

Jack was so excited...of course he didn't know what New Year's Eve was!

Best Friends celebrating together! Yeah! 2011!

Dinner time!
Maddie's first smore - ever! yum!
Relaxing by the fire pit!
Truly the best New Year's Eve we have had in a long time! We joined the Madden's for a fire pit party where we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows on the fire. We lit off a few fireworks, checked out some stars, ate outside, and had a great time! Jack was very excited - running back and forth - and giving lots of hugs and kisses. The girls put on make-up and had a little dance party. And of course at the end we counted down (at 9:15!) 10-9-8-7 and so on until Happy New Year! Noisemakers and hats helped in the screaming! Hugs and kisses from Maddie and Jack to their best friends. 2011 is going to be a good good year!

A Trip to the Zoo!

Sometimes we love each other!

First carousel ride ever! All smiles!

Maddie climbed up high for this photo opportunity!

Feeding the bird on Kathleen's arm!

3 Baby Birdies in the nest!
What a great day at the Jacksonville Zoo! Kathleen and I decided to head out on another road trip while the kids were out of school...we have a blast and so do the kids! We got to the Zoo and I was blessed by an older couple who handed me an extra ticket (FREE!) and a message reminding me that God cares about me. It was amazing! And on our day went...we rode the train - 2 times! Went on the carousel - Jack's First! And saw lots and lots of animals - we saw rhino's, elephants, cheetah's, monkeys, frogs and snakes, a Kimodo dragon (I didn't think they really existed!), zebras, giraffes and many more! Jack was a real trooper! Normally he naps around 1pm for a few hours. At 4pm he finally shut his eyes - and we were walking towards the car! He didn't miss a thing! The kids loved the whole zoo - especially the awesome play area. We had 3 sleepy kids on the way home - that always makes the drive easier! I will say we have a blast in the car too...Kathleen drives and I hand out snacks and take care of the kids needs. Sometimes this means throwing them a treat! Giggles all around when I do this! Knock on wood - but we haven't had a cryer on these trips yet! A quick stop at Cracker Barrel (all of our favorite) for dinner and we were home in time for bed! A perfect way to end the year!
