Thanksgiving week in the lowcountry...a perfect week for an oyster roast. The weather was warm, the sunset amazing, and the oysters yummy. Maddie and Jack had fun running all around...the playground, the docks, and eating oysters.

While we were driving to NC, Maddie decided that she wants to live there. Right next door to Tessa so that she can see her everyday. Wouldn't that be great! The first night in NC we all went for dinner...Tessa cried when we headed off to the hotel room. I asked Maddie how she felt about that - she said "I feel pretty bad that she is sad...but she must really love me!" What a great weekend! And what a great friendship for these two sweet little girls....

First Love!

You would have thought we were crazy...5 kids, one PACKED minivan, and 2 Mom's head out on the highway for an overnight in Hotlanta and some fishies! What a blast - we needed it! The kids were awesome! We found a playground in Centennial Park and started a game of hide and seek with the "city kids". Then walking to dinner a game of "red light - green light" kept us in line! Dinner and milkshakes, bath time and bed! The next morning we hit the aquarium, saw some shows, and climbed back in the minivan to head back home...a quick stop at Cracker Barrel to delay the end and lots of giggles from the back seat! So many good memories!

I love Westbury Park! That is the neighborhood we live in...I love it everyday but on Halloween it is even better. We walked from house to house with a whole group of friends. Maddie ran ahead with the big kids and Jack held his own! He walked from door to door and got more candy than Maddie. Jack wouldn't wear his costume - but everyone said "he is soooo cute - he doesn't need a costume!" In Westbury Park every house has big porches - but the driveways are in back. So everyone was just sitting out on their porches waiting...and we didn't have to walk up long driveways. Some houses were SCARY! Maddie wouldn't walk on the same side of the street with a scary house - but Jack loved it! He would touch a scary thing and giggle! I think Mom and Dad even enjoyed sitting on our porch and handing out candy...It was a great Halloween!

For the second year in a row we made the trip to a wonderful pumpkin patch in Ridgeland. They can't grow pumpkins well here - due to the sandy soil. But they spread the pumpkins out in a big field. You have to take a tractor ride to get there...Jack loved the ride! They also have tons of activities, a petting zoo, and a large sandbox. It was a beautiful day! Can't wait to visit the Pumpkin patch again next year!

This is the first batch of Halloween pictures from a great Halloween festival sponsored by the Island Rec Center. Two years in a row - makes this a family tradition! Bounce houses, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides and Shannon Tanner...all of our favorite things! Oh yeah - there was candy too! Lots of fun! Jack did not care for his costume this year...And Maddie liked all but her shoes. Hope you had a good one!
