The Bluffton Christmas Parade

Wow we have been busy! We are really enjoying life in the lowcountry...especially for the holidays! We have visited Santa and eagerly waited for him to arrive in the Bluffton Christmas Parade. The parade was awesome....lasted about an hour and a half and very festive! We got more candy than Halloween during the parade! Maddie loved watching a real parade and Jack was clapping his hands and waving as they passed by. I think we found a great new Holiday tradition! We are all looking forward to Christmas. Maddie loves driving around and looking at lights. She thinks the colored ones are beautiful - but the white ones are not. She also loves our other new tradition - the elf on the shelf. We have named our elf Harry and Maddie enjoys telling him what she wants for Christmas as well as saying I'm sorry to him when she makes some bad choices...When we first put up the tree - it was just tree and lights. Maddie was so disappointed. She kept asking where are the colors? Finally she got out her paper, scissors, and glue and started making ornaments. The next morning when the tree was decorated she was happy! And one last holiday story...Jack loves to carry a bell ornament and shake it. He squeals with delight! When Maddie holds a bell too - we have a jingle bells sing along!

So Jack is taking more and more steps each day! We bought him his first shoes which of course has slowed him down a bit...but he still tries. Jack is eating mostly finger foods and is starting to get some real milk. He loves eating what everyone else is eating. In December he will be one year old!

Madigail screams with joy everytime Jack walks. Jack follows Maddie around all day and wakes up when he hears her voice in the morning. He absolutely adores her. And most of the time she feels the same. I have even caught them playing nicely together several times! Jack likes to push Maddie around on her little Dora car - unbelievable that he is that strong - but he is! It is quite a sight to see! They also play cars, baby dolls and with the dollhouse. Our favorite thing though is Maddie riding her bike in the driveway with Jack running behind her in the walker! So cute!

We are loving the warm weather and all the fall festivities! We have been to a chilli cook-off, a seafood festival, a pumpkin patch, a big community yard sale, and a pumpkin patch festival! Making the rounds and loving it...

Daddy came to visit and got to enjoy some pre-Halloween events too!

Maddie and Jack are growing up soo fast. Maddie is TOO smart! You can't trick her. Maddie loves her school. And hopes everyday is Thursday (her school day.) We also have her in gymnastics again - which she loves! Jack is starting to stand without holding on and really cruises from couch to table and table to chair. He really wants to be mobile! Jack is also eating finger foods - he especially likes home-made macaroni and cheese (mmmmm!). Finally he is beginning to sleep better...I hope!

Well we are definately settling in! Maddie has been having tons of fun while Mommy works hard to get her new "school" ready. Maddie started preschool...we didn't know if they would take her and just showed up. They said they had room - so we went to the room. I didn't know if Maddie would stay (would she cry?) I didn't get to "prep" her because I didn't know if there was room. So a boy asks her to sit with him - and off she went. I wanted to stay but the teacher in me took charge! Long goodbyes are bad in this situation...so I left. And then peaked through the window. And then cried in my car! I can't believe my little Madigail is in school already. Ok it is just one day a week for 3 hours....But she loves it!

Best Girlfriends!

Jack's Baptism was celebrated on September 26, 2009. It was a beautiful crisp fall evening in Hunter, NY. We were blessed to celebrate with many dear NY friends and family. We also had lots of family travel from far away to be with us! Thank you for making Jack's baptism evening so special....

A beautiful and delicious celebration took place after the baptism at Majka's house. We all truly enjoyed Jack's special day...
